Ophel tracks where you are in each conversation so you never have to scroll back to find your place. Pair that with scroll lock to stay on the part you’re reading while the AI is still generating, and a set of quick navigation anchors to jump around long threads instantly.Documentation Index

Reading history
When you leave a conversation, Ophel quietly records your scroll position. The next time you return, it scrolls you back to exactly where you left off. Settings → Features → Reading History:| Setting | Description | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Record reading position | Track scroll position per conversation | On |
| Auto-restore | Scroll to last position when reopening a conversation | On |
| Retention period | How long records are kept before automatic cleanup | 30 days |
Scroll lock
While the AI is generating, the page automatically scrolls down to follow new output. If you’re reading something earlier in the thread, this is disruptive. Scroll lock freezes the page’s scroll position for the duration of generation; once the AI finishes, normal scrolling resumes. How to toggle:- Keyboard shortcut
Press
Alt+S (Option+S on Mac) to toggle scroll lock on or off.Scroll lock is a temporary per-session state and does not persist across page refreshes. If you need it active on every visit to a particular site, toggle it manually after each page load.
Navigation anchors
The floating button group provides three scroll shortcuts that also work as a navigation system:| Button | Keyboard shortcut | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Scroll to top (↑) | Alt+T (Option+T on Mac) | Loads full history and jumps to the top |
| Scroll to bottom (↓) | Alt+B (Option+B on Mac) | Jumps to the latest message |
| Return to anchor | Alt+Z (Option+Z on Mac) | Returns to the last saved position |
